Gulf Coast firms seek VC funds

TAMPA — Eight Gulf Coast companies seeking venture capital have been selected to present at the 2011 Florida Venture Capital Conference, which will take place from Feb. 3-4 at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla. Presenting companies include:

CallMiner Inc., a Fort Myers company which analyzes recorded phone conversations using its own specially-developed software (the Business Review featured the company in October);

Claro Scientific LLC, a Tampa-based developer of medical diagnostic tools;

Field Forensics, a manufacturer based in Largo that builds disposable trace-explosives detection kits (featured in 2008); http://www.review.net/section/detail/Trace-tracker/

Footprint Logistics Systems, a Clearwater-based business software design firm;

Ideal Image Development Inc., a laser hair removal services company headquartered in Tampa with 49 corporate owned clinics and 16 franchise locations;

Tower Cloud Inc., an upstream cellular network services provider based in St. Petersburg;

Tridelity 3D North America, a Tampa-based subsidiary to a German parent company that is working to develop 3D televisions that do not require glasses; and

XCPT Communication Technologies LLC, which provides visualization software to dentistry professionals to help describe and explain treatment options to patients, and is based in Venice.
