For nearly 40 years, Tampa-based RMC Property Group has been primarily involved in the landlord side of retail real estate. Now it's offering to handle the other end of leases, too.
The company recently established a tenant representation division that will focus on securing new locations for clients and disposing of surplus properties. David Gibson, a commercial real estate veteran specializing in tenant representation, leads the new division.
“In many ways, we have been practicing tenant representation for years, assisting our clients in backfilling empty boxes or securing new retail locations for tenants,” Susie Rice, president of RMC Property Group, tells Coffee Talk.
She says the addition allows her firm to leverage its experience and extensive knowledge of the Florida retail market. “RMC has the ability to locate and secure the best possible sites on the best possible terms” in major, secondary and tertiary markets, she says.
Established in 1972, RMC Property Group offers additional services such as property management, development, retail leasing and marketing, and financial and real estate advisory. The firm has a portfolio of 50 properties totaling 4.2 million square feet that also includes residential, office, mixed-use and storage buildings.
The company may be best known as a key developer and redeveloper for Publix Super Markets Inc., having handled at least 25 locations over the last decade for the Lakeland-based grocer.
