NAPLES — Arthrex Inc. hired its 1,000th local employee in January, according to founder and President Reinhold Schmieding.
At a celebratory event put on by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, an independent research firm estimated that Arthrex generates an annual economic impact of nearly $435 million for the Naples community.
Schmieding's comments about the future of his business were overwhelmingly positive. “Arthrex will achieve over $1 billion in annual revenue in 2011 with a forecasted 15% annual growth minimum in revenue, job creation, tax revenue creation and new medical breakthroughs in the pipeline forecasted for 2011 and beyond,” he said.
Both Arthrex and its president have received numerous accolades from the Business Review over the past few years. In 2008, Schmieding was named the Lee/Collier region's Entrepreneur of the Year; in 2010, Arthrex was named one of the Gulf Coast's Best Managed Companies; and in 2011, Schmieding was named to the Business Review's inaugural “Power 50” list.
