NAPLES -- ASG Software Solutions acquired Atempo, a data protection and backup management software developer based in Palo Alto, Calif.

“Our customers are dealing with exponential data growth and increasing complexity in meeting e-discovery and compliance regulations,” explains Arthur Allen, ASG president and CEO, in a release. “By integrating Atempo's technologies into ASG's solutions, we are able to provide customers with a scalable, long-term data protection solution that works across any infrastructure and on any platform.”

Financial terms were not disclosed. Atempo operates 13 offices across the globe, and claims a customer base of roughly 4,500 clients.

Naples-based ASG provides data management solutions to more than 3,000 corporate customers. The company earned roughly $985 million in revenues between 2006 and 2009, Allen tells the Business Review.
