NAPLES — Arthrex Inc. will spend a combined roughly $35 million to build a 160,000-square-foot surgical device manufacturing facility on Oil Well Road in Collier County, and to acquire a 240,000-square-foot warehousing facility on Daniels Road in Lee County, the company announced Friday.
The Baron Collier Companies are donating 21 acres of land to support Arthrex's expansion, says CEO Reinhold Schmieding. Additionally, Collier County government approved the company for a business expansion incentive program.
Arthrex estimates the project will have a combined $1 billion dollar impact on the local, state, and U.S. economies by 2016.
Arthrex is a privately held company that produces products and services for orthopaedic surgeons. The firm is also a member of this year's Gulf Coast 500, which ranks the 500 largest companies headquartered in Southwest Florida.
