Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin' Donuts has signed a deal to develop five restaurants in Polk County to add to the six it already has in the county.

The development deal is between the company, Alex and Randy Fernandez and Gloria Lengyel. Under the terms of the agreement, the Fernandezes and Lengyel will open the first restaurant in 2012. The remaining stores must be opened by 2016.

The deal is part of Dunkin's growth strategy for Florida. The company is specifically looking for franchisees to develop locations in Marion, Hernando, Northeast Hillsborough, North Pinellas and Pasco counties. Development opportunities include free-standing restaurants, gas and convenience travel plazas, universities, and other retail environments.
