Bradenton Pediatric dentist buys Cracker Bay General Store

PROPERTY: 5904 E. State Road 64, Bradenton

PRICE: $2.88 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $3.5 million, October 2007

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Thomas C. Tyler Jr. PA, Venice

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Bradenton pediatric dentist George Meadows purchased the 18,580-square-foot Cracker Bay General Store for $2.88 million.

The price equated to $155 per square foot.

The vacant retail store occupies 6.76 acres across State Road 64 from a Walmart Supercenter and land being developed for the Toyota of Lakewood dealership.

Gail Bowden of the Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group handled the transaction.

“It just shows to me that commercial is continuing to pick up,” Bowden says. “The whole State Road 64 corridor is hot right now.”

Calls to Meadows and his dental practice where not returned prior to deadline.

The purchase entity Meadows Property Group LLC mortgaged the property to Sabal Palm Bank for $2.88 million.
