The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. will lead a trade mission to Mexico this November, partnering with several other commerce organizations including Enterprise Florida and the U.S. Commercial Service.
The Tampa Port Authority is also involved with the trip, and stands to benefit from stronger ties with Mexico, says Port director Richard Wainio.
“Mexico is one of the Port of Tampa's largest trading partners and the November mission will enhance the Port's role as the 'Gateway to Mexico,' creating opportunities for Tampa Bay companies,” Wainio says in a release.
From Nov. 7 to Nov. 12, the trade mission will visit Mexico City and Guadalajara, the two largest cities in the country, which did $3 billion in trade business with Florida in 2009.
Those interested in registering for the trip should contact Kathy Acevedo at (813) 218-3304, or via e-mail at [email protected]. The deadline for registration is Friday, Sept. 24.
