Dave Cole, an employee of Pinellas Park-based Transitions Optical since its launch in 1990, takes over as the company's chief operating officer effectively immediately.
Cole has served the company previously as general manager for the firm's North American and Australia and New Zealand markets, a release said.
“His in-depth knowledge of the optical industry and our business, vision for long-term success and industry growth, and passion for building strong partnerships across all levels are just a few of the reasons he inspires such trust and respect from colleagues and the industry alike,” said Transitions Optical CEO Rick Elias of his company's latest promotion.
Transitions Optical Inc. owns the intellectual property behind Transitions lenses, an eyewear option that responds to varying intensities of light by changing opacity. New Hampshire-based PPG Industries Inc. (symbol: PPG) and Essilor International, a French company, are joint owners.
