PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The Goss family of Temple Terrace purchased the 111,000-square-foot Westgate Plaza shopping center for $5.3 million.

The price equated to $48 per square foot.

Bealls Outlet, Big Lots and Family Dollar anchor the 27-year-old center. It was 98% occupied at the time of the sale.

“We own 60,000 square feet adjacent to the property,” Trent Goss says. “So when it became available, we decided to complete the puzzle.”

The Gosses own a nearby mini-storage facility and Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The family also owns the 78,135-square-foot Kingsway Plaza strip center in Brandon

Goss says the family plans to do a substantial facade change on Westgate Plaza in the next five years.

The Goss family also plans to locate the first of a planned chain of mattress stores, Dream On Mattress Center, in the center. Additional stores are planned for Lakeland, Brandon, Elfers and possibly Temple Terrace.
