Kforce Inc.
The Tampa-based professional staffing firm doubled its third quarter profits over the year, with $6.4 million earned. And its $259.5 million in revenues represent a 13.7% increase.
“We continue to perform well in permanent placement,” said CEO David Dunkel, “which we believe reflects our clients rebuilding core staff after significant reductions.” Going forward, the company stands to benefit from an “improving climate for professional staffing," Dunkel said.
Kforce Inc. operates 64 staffing offices across the United States, and two other offices in the Philippines.
Sykes Enterprises Inc.
Sykes, a business process outsourcing firm, reported a $93.5 million over-the-year increase in third quarter revenues, but those numbers are boosted by the company's acquisition of ICT Group in late 2009. Excluding ICT's $101.2 million contribution, the company's revenues fell 3.9% over the year.
Overall, the company's earnings dropped 37% over the year on a per-share basis, from $0.46 last year to $0.29 in 2010. The company cited a loss on operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as increased interest expenses, as reasons for its decreased profitability.
After earning $307 million in revenues this quarter, Sykes expects to earn a similar amount in the last three months of 2010, for roughly $1.1 billion in revenue for the entire year.
Sykes Enterprises Inc. is headquartered in Tampa, and provides business outsourcing solutions to clients around the globe.
