In an attempt to capitalize on the growth potential in the healthcare industry, Tribridge, the Tampa-based IT services firm, has acquired Mercatus Group LLC, a health care-focused managed services firm.

“The Mercatus acquisition is an ideal example of our continuing strategic focus on the rapidly evolving healthcare market,” explained Tony DiBenedetto, CEO at Tribridge, in a release.

The transaction gives the combined companies a customer base of more than 350 health care-related clients.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. At the time of purchase, Mercatus, a Chicago-based company, was privately held.

Revenues at Tribridge have increased tenfold in the past five years, from $6 million in 2004 to roughly $60 million in 2009, as reported in a recent Business Review article featuring the company.
