Joseph Brancucci will soon take over as the new president and CEO of GTE Federal Credit Union in Tampa, replacing Bucky Sebastian, who retired in December 2009, a release said.

The Tampa credit union lured Brancucci away from his former position as executive vice president at BECU, a Washington state-based credit union with more than $8.6 billion in assets. Brancucci had been with BECU since 1995.

Brancucci is also the founder of Prime Alliance Solutions Inc., which provides technology-based mortgage solutions to credit unions across the country. He will remain CEO of that organization after assuming his new role with GTE in early July of this year.

Founded in 1935, GTE has roughly $1.5 billion in assets, and serves nearly 200,000 members.
