M2Gen, a wholly-owned for-profit subsidiary of the Tampa-based Moffitt Cancer Center, has named Cathy Kerzner its new chief commercial officer.

Kerzner joins the company from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, where she served as senior vice president of commercial portfolio management.

“Cathy brings a great mix of deep commercial skills and broad corporate experience, having held leadership roles in both startups and Big Pharma,” said James Utterback, CEO at M2Gen, in a release. “Her international experience will certainly be tapped as we expand the M2Gen footprint outside of our focus in North America.”

M2Gen is working to develop cancer treatments that utilize a patient's genetic information, a field known more broadly as personalized medicine.
