JPMorgan Chase has added former U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Fla., as an executive employee. Martinez will serve as the company's Chairman of Florida, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, a release said.
Upon assuming his new position, Martinez will become the company's senior executive in the state of Florida, serving as a representative for the bank to businesses of all kinds.
"Mel has been a business and civic leader and a role model in Florida for decades,” said Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, in a release. “Now he will help JPMorgan Chase continue our expansion.”
Based in New York, JPMorgan Chase has assets of approximately $2.1 trillion.
