Minto Communities announced plans to acquire the last remaining buildable land parcels in the Kings Point and Renaissance neighborhoods of Sun City Center.

The agreement, with WCI Communities LLC, covers land for up to 1,000 homes, of which 200 lots are already developed. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Minto plans to build detached single-family homes and paired villas or two-unit attached homes on the lots. Model home construction should begin in August, with sales starting later this year.

The transaction is the second major Gulf Coast land acquisition by Minto in the past eight months. In October, the company purchased the 350-acre Perico Island property in northwest Manatee County from the St. Joe Co.

Minto Communities is also currently building homes in other parts of the Gulf Coast, including Fish Hawk Ranch, Grand Hampton and Country Club East in Lakewood Ranch.

Minto Communities' parent company, The Minto Group, has built more than 67,000 homes and manages more than 15,000 rental homes and apartments. It also owns a commercial portfolio of more than 2.5 million square feet.
