Firm shifts strategy, changes name

Fawley Bryant Architects, one of the leading architecture firms in the Sarasota-Bradenton region, has dropped the word architecture from its name.

The company's new name is Fawley|Bryant. The name and a new company brand better suits the firm's recent strategic transition to provide design and planning services in addition to architecture, partner and co-founder Rick Fawley says.

The strategy transformation, says Fawley, follows an industry trend where architecture companies are being asked by clients to do more than just architecture for a given project.

Fawley|Bryant, with a headquarters in Bradenton and a new office in Lakewood Ranch, is one of the few big-project architecture firms in the region to have survived the recession. In fact, the 14-employee firm even hired a few more people late last year. (See Review, 10/30/09.)

The firm also has two offices outside Florida, one in Tennessee and one in Colorado.
