PROPERTY: 1550-1590 North Tamiami Trail, Venice

PRICE: $2 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $2.66 million, $823,000, $640,400 and $662,800, August 2010

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Greenberg Traurig PA, Orlando

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Casey Key resident Joe Collins purchased the former Golden Chrysler and Golden Imports dealership property for $2 million.

The price equated to $51 per square foot.

The 6.85-acre property features several buildings with a total of 38,949 square feet of space, including an eight-bay service building.

Doug Meschko and William Rollins of Land Solutions Inc. represented the seller, an affiliate of SunTrust Bank. Nick Herron of the Herron Group of Re/Max Alliance Group represented Collins.

Collins says he bought the property as an investment and has no immediate plans for it.

“We've got the capabilities there to do virtually anything,” Collins says. “It has got six or seven different buildings and the rest of the space is blacktop.”

Collins is the retired founder and part owner of Marion, Ind.-based CVS Systems Inc., a Dish Network distributor covering seven states.
