BUYER: Florida Health Sciences Center Inc. (principals: Margarita Cancio, Ronald Hytoff, Phillip Dingle, James Warren III, Joseph Taggart and David Straz Jr.), Tampa

SELLER: 722 West Kennedy LLC

PROPERTY: 722 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa

PRICE: $4 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $4.15 million, February 2006

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Tampa General Hospital purchased 2.5 acres on Fielding Avenue for $4 million. The price equated to $1.6 million per acre.

The hospital purchased a 48,652-square-foot building on Kennedy Boulevard near Brevard Avenue to house the support and non-clinical functions of the hospital late last year. This vacant property it bought nearby on Fielding Avenue is planned as surface parking for that building.

“We are hoping to be done with this [building] renovation in early April,” says Cheryl Eagan, vice president of support servers for Tampa General Hospital. “We are going to go to the city of Tampa about combining those two properties into one parcel. That would give us future development opportunities.”

Paul Bouldin, Dorothy Jackman, Travis Prince and Jeffrey Meyer of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller. DeLaVergne & Co. represented the buyer.
