PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The owners of pawnshop company Capital Pawn and the software company Capital Systems Inc. purchased a 4,610-square-foot bank building at the northwest corner of Woods Edge Parkway and Tamiami Trail for $1.08 million.
The purchase price equated to $233 per square foot of building space or $949,154 per acre for the land. The 10-year-old building previously housed a Wachovia Bank branch.
The new ownership is using Pentagon Enterprises Inc., which shares an address with the two companies, to remodel the building's interior.
Officials with Capital Systems declined to comment on the purchase.
Tom Sams and Ken Egan started Capital Pawn in 1990. The company now owns eight stores in Florida. In 1992, Capital Pawn created Capital Systems, which develops and sells the pawnshop software Pawnbroker Plus.
