Automated Petroleum, Energy buys Fort Myers Sunoco


BUYER: Blue Marlin Stations LLC (principals: William and Kathryn McKnight), Brandon


SELLER: Sunoco Inc. (R&M)


PROPERTY: 2241 Park 82 Drive, Fort Myers


PRICE: $750,000


PREVIOUS PRICE: $375,000, March 1989


PREPARER ON DEED: Sunoco Inc., Philadelphia


PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Brandon-based Automated Petroleum & Energy Co. Inc. purchased a Sunoco service station building north of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Interstate 75 for $750,000.


The purchase price equated to $90 per square foot for the building space. The gas station is 8,292 square feet on a 1.23-acre site, based on Lee County Property Appraiser data.


Chicago-based NRC Realty & Capital Advisors auctioned the service station.


Automated Petroleum & Energy distributes gas and owns and operates gas stations. The company owns more than 200 convenience stores.


Company President Bill McKnight has previously told the Review that his company was divesting some of its stores in order to buy better, more high-volume locations.
