WCI wins school's 'Business Partner of the Year' honor

Laurel Nokomis School nominated WCI as its "Business Partner of the Year." WCI won on the district level for its support of the school through its Habitats for Learning field study of environmental awareness and green building, which was presented to students at Venetian Golf & River Club.

Venetian is certified as a Green Design Standard community by the Florida Green Building Coalition and is one of four communities in the state recognized by the group.

Sarasota, California companies team up for system upgrade

Teltronics, an emergency communication solutions provider, partnered with HigherGround Inc., a provider of data collection and call recording for call centers and public safety units, to develop an emergency-technology upgrade for Centralink.

The upgrade will create a fully-integrated and interoperable 9-1-1.

The Suncoast Workforce Board was awarded a Theodore Small Award for its Construction Technology Career initiative week at the National Association of Workforce Boards conference in Washington, D.C. The CTC recruits high school juniors and seniors into the construction trades.

County seeks nominations

for conservation awards

The Sarasota County Conservation Committee 2005, a coalition of representatives from local government, businesses and civic organizations, is seeking applicants for the 13th Annual Conservation Awards.

Applicants may include individuals, businesses or organizations that demonstrate a leadership role in promoting environmental awareness and conservation of natural resources. Nominations for this year's awards must be submitted by March 23.

Television anchor Linda Carson of WWSB-ABC 7 and Jimmy Dean of SARASOTA Magazine will recognize honorees at an April 21 luncheon at Michael's On East.

Infinium Labs presented its flagship Phantom Game Service, built on Microsoft Windows XP Embedded, in the Microsoft booth No. 1602 in San Francisco's Moscone Center during CMP Media's Embedded Systems Conference, March 6-10.

The ESC demonstration follows the presentation of Infinium's Phantom Game Service at the Microsoft Windows Embedded Device Showcase exhibit during the recent Consumer Electronics Show in January in Las Vegas.
