Sarasota builder's homes

entered into Phaidon Atlas

Two North Casey Key homes have been included in the recently published Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture. The single-family residences, constructed by Sarasota custom home builder Michael K. Walker & Associates Inc. and designed by Toshiko Mori Architects of New York, are two of more than 1,000 buildings from more than 75 countries to be included in the atlas, which showcases the most outstanding works of world architecture built since 1998.

Manatee's future

builders attend show

The International Builders' Show (IBS) hosted more than 80 high-school student-members of Florida's Future Builders of America (FBA) chapters from schools around the state.

Manatee County had 22 students and instructors from four chapters: Manatee High School, Palmetto High School, Southeast High School and Manatee Technical Institute.

Alan Anderson with Neal Communities, the builder sponsor for Southeast, and Randy Moylan with Bruce Williams Homes, the builder sponsor for Manatee, attended to support their company's schools.

The Home Builders Association of Manatee County and the county established the FBA chapters in October. In addition to attending IBS opening ceremonies and touring the trade show, FBA students gathered for a rally and luncheon at the Rosen Centre Hotel. The keynote speaker for the opening ceremonies was NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw.

Sarasota advertising agency

to market Tampa Bay Storm

Nuevo Advertising Group has been retained by Palace Sports Entertainment, Tampa to handle the Hispanic marketing efforts for the Tampa Bay Storm. Nuevo Advertising previously secured an agreement with Rumba 680 AM (WRMD) to broadcast all Tampa Bay Storm home games during the 2005 Arena Football League season. The broadcast team of Neil Fernandez and Enrique Oliu will call the action during the 8-home games.

The Advertising Federation of the Suncoast changed its name to Suncoast Advertising Federation. The new name is also accompanied by a new logo designed by Grapevine Communications Advertising Agency. The new logo features an illustration of the sun and horizon in bright hues of orange and turquoise.

joins with Pinellas firm

First State Bank and Global Financial Advisory, located in Sarasota and Pinellas counties, joined forces to integrate national-level financial services with local community customer service and care. The two financial institutions now offer a one-stop-shop for all the financial services normally required by its customers.

Sarasota planner joins group,

while another one stays on

John Boyle has been selected as one of 70 planners from among 2,200 planners across the country to join the Select Planner Group of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp./Sagemark Consulting. Boyle will be part of the firm's Private Wealth Services Group Program.

Based on his success in the Select Planner Group, Orion Marx has been selected to continue participating in this program for 2005.

Kitchens Direct

heads to Naples

Kitchens Direct of Sarasota launched the first phase of its Florida expansion plans with a Naples location. The new site at 2082 Trade Center Way will include a 3,000-square-foot showroom featuring traditional and contemporary vignettes.

Real estate firm earns honors

from J.D. Power and Associates

Coldwell Banker earned the highest ranking in the J.D. Power and Associates Home Buyer/Seller Satisfaction Study for highest overall satisfaction for repeat homebuyers and sellers among national full-service real estate firms. The Florida West division of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Inc. includes Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Walton and Bay Counties.

Contracting companies receive

bonuses for early completion

Frederick Derr & Co. and Gigliotti Contracting Inc. received bonuses of $10,000 and $20,000 from Neal Communities. The bonuses were rewarded for early completion of site work and infrastructure in the first of five neighborhoods on the property formerly known as the Taylor Parcel.

• The Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau named Grapevine Communications as its agency of record.
