chairman interviewed on TV

The Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce chairman recently appeared on BLAB TV, Comcast Channel 21, with host Sandra Washington. Washington interviewed the Latin Chamber board Chairman Jim Delgado; Vice Chair Vicente Medina; Membership Committee Chair Hiram Pedraza; and Nuevo Advertising Group's vice president of sales and marketing, Pedro Luis Perez. They discussed the Latin Chamber's vision, educational programs and membership opportunities.

Oak Park picks Kitchner & Pierro

as outstanding business partner

Kitchner & Pierro Insurance Inc. was chosen as Oak Park Elementary School's 2004 Outstanding Business Partner in Education. The firm has been involved in community causes to eliminate literacy and to support diversity.

The firm partnered with Oak Park in its first book fair at Barnes and Noble. And the firm donated bilingual books and dictionaries in Russian/Ukrainian and Spanish for children to use in the classroom.

WCI Communities receives

green marketing award

The National Association of Home Builders recognized WCI Communities in for its campaign that advanced the ideals of green construction. All of the homes in WCI Communities Venetian Golf and River Club in Venice were built using green techniques, and are undergoing certification by the Florida Green Building Coalition's Green Home Standards. WCI promoted the community using a green building education center.

Bradenton bank raises

twice the state requirement

Freedom Bank has raised far more than the required state minimum of $7.5 million and is closing in on $15 million.

The bank, which received conditional approval in January 2005 from the Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of Financial Regulation, will be located at 617 Cortez Road W. when it opens in the second quarter.

Suncoast Workforce Board

receives award

The Suncoast Workforce Board was awarded a Theodore Small Award for its "Construction Technology Careers" initiative week at the National Association of Workforce Boards conference in Washington, D.C.
