University launches business administration doctoral program

Applications are being accepted for the new University of Tampa curriculum, set to debut in the fall 2022 semester.

TAMPA — Beginning in the fall 2022 semester, the University of Tampa will offer a doctoral program in business administration.

Led by Lonnie Bryant, a UT professor of finance and chair of the university’s department of finance, the three-year program will award an Executive Doctor of Business Administration (EDBA) degree. In a press release, UT says the program has been “designed to meet the needs of people who have already been successful in business for many years and are looking for a new intellectual challenge.”

Courses, the release states, will include Contemporary Business Research Issues, Global Business and Economics, Multidisciplinary Strategic Thinking, Applied Business Research, Practical Corporate Financial Management and Valuation Research; however, students, with the guidance of faculty members, will have the opportunity to choose a specific area of expertise.

To better serve students who are working full-time jobs, in-person classes will meet on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Online learning will be facilitated via video conferencing technology, multimedia content and discussion boards.

“In addition to receiving hands-on training in a flexible learning environment,” Bryant states in the release, “EDBA students will have a chance to network and collaborate with top industry professionals in Tampa’s vibrant downtown, where they can build on their work experience to become leaders in their field.”
