Tom Brady’s fitness company, TB12 Inc., and nonprofit TB12 Foundation have agreed to partner with Pinellas County Schools and the Pinellas Education Foundation on a curriculum redesign that will emphasize increased health and wellness for students.

According to a news release, TB12’s certified body coaches will develop a pilot curriculum that will be instituted at six middle schools and four high schools in the fall semester. They will also be responsible for training PCS physical education instructors, athletic coaches and administrators.

The curriculum, the release states, will focus on pliability, movement, nutrition, hydration and mental fitness. If successful in its pilot stage, the program will be rolled out in every school in the 2023-24 academic year.

“This will be a student experience like no other,” Pinellas County Schools Superintendent Kevin Hendrick states in the release. “This is a unique partnership that will allow both our teachers and students to learn from the best in the health and wellness sector. We are grateful to the TB12 Foundation for launching this program right here in Pinellas County Schools and to the Pinellas Education Foundation for bringing another first-of-its-kind partnership to our district.”

The TB12 approach to physical and mental fitness consists of the five principles above, and it builds on research into the correlation between health and wellness and academic success.

“Joining forces with Pinellas County Schools to teach students and young athletes how to live a healthy lifestyle and perform at their best is what the TB12 Foundation is all about,” TB12 co-founder Alex Guerrero states in the release. “Incorporating daily healthy habits at a young age is so important and we are excited about the opportunity to implement this innovative program in the Tampa area.”
