NAPLES — D.R. Horton Southwest Florida, a unit of D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the country, has purchased some 70 homesites in Royal Palm Golf Estates in Naples.

The builder declined to disclose the price it paid for the lots in the gated community, planned for 343 single-family homes. It plans to offer five open-concept, one-story floor plans in the community, ranging from 2,197 to 2,540 square feet and priced from the low $400s to the mid $500s, according to a statement.  The floor plans include three to four bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms and a three-car garage. Other features include a gourmet kitchen with a large island, custom-designed cabinets, granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances and ceramic tile flooring, in addition to wall-to-wall carpeting in select parts of the home, tray ceilings, designer lighting fixtures and the D.R. Horton Home is Connected smart home package.

Royal Palm, on U.S. 41, six miles southeast of Collier Blvd. and near Olde Naples and Marco Island, is being built around Eagles Lake Golf Club, a public, par 72 championship course measuring 7,150 yards and surrounded by wildlife, such as the American Bald Eagle.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Arlington, Texas, D.R. Horton has operations in 88 markets in 29 states, and has been the largest builder in the United States by volume since 2002.
