FORT MYERS — Lee Health named Paul Simeone vice president of mental and behavioral health. He will lead Lee Health’s behavioral and mental health initiatives while working with community partners to improve behavioral health care in Southwest Florida, according to a statement.

Simeone has more than 30 years of experience in mental and behavioral health as an educator, administrator and practicing clinical psychologist, the release adds. He's also held several faculty positions at universities in the Boston area and most recently served as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.

“(Paul) brings extensive mental and behavioral health experience with highly regarded organizations around the country,” says John Chomeau, chief population health officer of Lee Health. “Paul’s unique combination of leadership, teaching, operations and clinical practice will help Lee Health drive improvements to behavioral and mental health care in Southwest Florida.”

Simeone most recently served as program coordinator for the cultural/linguistic and fee-for-service teams in Adult Outpatient Psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance in Somerville, Mass., a public, three-hospital health system serving Boston’s northern suburbs.
