TAMPA — AdventHealth, a nonprofit community health and hospital system, has signed an agreement to acquire Tampa-based Exodus Women’s Center and its affiliated entities.

The agreement includes the purchase, or lease, of all 12 Exodus Women’s Center medical office locations in Hillsborough and Polk Counties, as well as an administrative office, according to a statement. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Clinical operations under AdventHealth are expected to begin in early January 2021, and once final, all Exodus Women’s Center clinical locations will become part of the AdventHealth West Florida Division. Current ownership will remain in place until the transaction is complete.

“We are excited to expand our network of care and provide greater access to women’s health care services in our community,” AdventHealth West Florida Division President and CEO Mike Schultz says in the release. “Exodus Women’s Center has a long history in this community and is a valuable asset to the region. We look forward to building on their history and delivering our brand of faith-based, whole-person care.”

Exodus Women’s Center, founded in 1992, specializes in low and high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, fertility, pediatric and adolescent gynecology and menopause. “We are honored AdventHealth, a proven healthcare leader, will be continuing and expanding the mission we embarked on 28 years ago to provide quality, compassionate obstetrical and gynecological care to all women in our community,” Exodus Women’s Center President and CEO Susan Levine in the statement.

AdventHealth West Florida Division has been expanding in the region. The division recently announced a partnership with Moffitt Cancer Center to expand cancer services in Wesley Chapel, and opened an outpatient imaging center and expanded physician office locations in Brandon. The AdventHealth West Florida Division includes 10 hospitals, four freestanding emergency rooms, one long-term care facility, urgent care centers, express care clinics, mobile mammography services, hundreds of physician practices and a clinically integrated network.
