TAMPA — The name game continues for the Gasparilla Bowl, Tampa’s college football bowl game that pits teams from the NCAA’s American Athletic Conference against rivals from the Southeastern Conference.
Past title sponsors have included BitCoin, MagicJack and Beef O’Brady’s. From 2017 to 2019, it was memorably known as the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. Naming rights for the 2020 edition have been awarded to Strongsville, Ohio-based Union Home Mortgage.
According to a press release, Union Home Mortgage, with the assistance of Denver-based agency Impression Sports & Entertainment, has negotiated a multi-year title sponsorship for the game.
"We are excited to begin this journey with Union Home Mortgage as our two organizations have a very similar approach to how we operate,” states Scott Glaser, executive director of the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl, in the release. "Leadership at Union Home Mortgage made it very clear that they always strive to create a culture that demonstrates mutual respect for everyone along with a deep desire to be world-class. This is no different than how we attack every day at our bowl. I can’t wait to get started!"
Union Home Mortgage, the release states, is an independent, full-service mortgage banking company with more than 150 branches throughout the United States.
