TAMPA — Floyd’s 99 Barbershop, a Denver-based chain of barbershops that cater to both men and women, has signed an agreement that will see local franchisees Eric Peerless and Judah Rubin open five shops in south Tampa over the next four years.
The brand already had a strong presence in central Florida, with barbershops in Longwood, Orlando, Oviedo and Winter Park. According to a news release, Floyd’s 99 expects to add 40 barbershops in the southeast over the next five years and is also targeting Collier County for expansion.
"When it comes to local hair salon and barbershop options, there's really no middle ground — you either have high-end salons or low-cost options with a high risk of a bad haircut,” Peerless states in the release. “Floyd's 99 is the brand that's missing. No matter which Floyd's 99 location you visit, you know you're going to enjoy your experience and get a great haircut, every time."
According to the release, Floyd’s 99 Barbershop seeks to add up to eight multi-unit franchisees this year and has identified Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and Washington, D.C., as its key growth markets.
