FORT MYERS — Storm Smart, a manufacturer and installer of storm protection products for homes and businesses, is partnering with Southwest Florida business and community leaders on a series of coronavirus pandemic-related public service announcements.
The PSAs will air on TV and online during the next few months, according to a statement. The focus of the PSAs is to remind everyone to support local businesses, help neighbors, maintain proper hygiene and donate to local food pantries. Storm Smart officials developed and produced the PSAs, the statement adds, to urge “the community to come together as one to support the most vulnerable people, businesses and nonprofits in Southwest Florida.”
Some prominent Southwest Florida business and civic leaders appear in the videos, including Bonita Springs Mayor Peter Simmons; Cape Coral Mayor Joe Coviello; Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson; Lee County School District Superintendent Greg Adkins; Community Cooperative CEO Tracey Galloway; Harry Chapin Food Bank President and CEO Richard LeBer; Southwest Florida Community Foundation President and CEO Sarah Owens; and Storm Smart Executive Chairman and Founder Brian Rist.
“Our most vulnerable communities and populations are going to need us to come together to support one another in order to survive and thrive once this has passed,” Rist says in the statement. “During these uncertain times we need to stand united, stay strong and support one another through this pandemic.”
Storm Smart, with some 185 employees, had $45.12 million in revenue in 2019.
