ST. PETERSBURG — CaseGlide LLC, a provider of claims litigation management software for insurance companies and other claims organizations, has named Russ Smith chief technology officer, a newly created role.

Smith, according to a press release, brings more than two decades of software industry experience to the role. He previously served as senior vice president of technology at Tampa-based Global Safety Management.

CaseGlide has the privilege of helping claims organizations navigate the new normal: increased work from home, new forms of collaboration and virtual mediations and trials,” CaseGlide co-founder and CEO Wesley Todd states in the release. “Despite the transformation in how we work, claims organizations still have the same priorities of closing cases, reducing costs and improving outcomes. As the CTO of CaseGlide, Russ has the opportunity to help drive that transformation and shape the future of claims litigation. He is well qualified to meet that challenge.”

As CTO, the release states, Smith will oversee CaseGlide’s engineering team, guide research and development and manage the firm’s long-term product roadmap. His tech sector background also includes a 20-year stint with Tampa-based Tribridge and the publicly traded company that acquired it, DXC Technology.

“CaseGlide is a successful and forward-looking technology company experiencing tremendous growth,” Smith states in the release. “The CaseGlide leadership team has laid a great foundation for someone with my experience to help take this technology solution to the next level.”
