A Southwest Florida-based senior care advisory company has signed on as an underwriter for a new PBS series, Family Pictures USA. With support of Oasis Senior Advisors, headquartered in Bonita Springs, the program explores American cities, towns and rural communities through the lens of the family photo album.

The show premieres Aug. 12 at 9 p.m. EDT on PBS stations nationwide.

Each episode begins at a community photo-sharing event where people present images long stored in photo albums or stashed away in boxes. Using these pictures as a starting point, show creator and host Thomas Allen Harris engages participants in conversation and guides them through stories of hardship, perseverance and love, according to a statement. The series then goes on location to expand the family narratives into a personal history of the region.

“This program gets at the heart of why so many people seek out our free service for seniors and their families,” Oasis Senior Advisors founder and CEO Tim Evankovich says in a statement. “People cherish the family members who came before them and want to preserve and honor the way they’ve lived their lives.”

Founded in 2014, Oasis Senior Advisors provides free, personalized help finding transitional housing solutions to fit the needs of seniors and their families. This includes senior housing, hospital discharge, elder law, specialty care and more. The company also operates a growing number of franchises across the country.

“We’re absolutely over the moon to be working with Oasis,” Harris says. “We couldn’t imagine a more fitting partner for what we’re both doing.”
