BONITA SPRINGS — FineMark National Bank & Trust has entered into a title sponsor agreement with Bonita Bay Club for its $100,000 United States Tennis Association Women’s Professional Circuit tennis tournament. The tournament is scheduled for May 6-12, 2019.
“We are pleased to partner with the Bonita Bay Club to bring this level of women’s tennis to Southwest Florida,” says Finemark President and CEO Joseph Catti in a statement. “These events represent Bonita Bay’s commitment to excellence.”
Daily attendance for the USTA Pro Circuit event is expected at nearly 1,000 spectators per day, the release adds.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit New Horizons of Southwest Florida, a nonprofit that empowers at-risk youth to reach their full potential through tutoring, mentoring and faith building.
“We are excited FineMark has partnered with us as we elevate tennis in our region and help support the important work underway at New Horizons,” says tournament committee chair Peter Janson in the statement.
The USTA Pro Circuit was formed in 1979 to provide players with the opportunity to gain the professional ranking points they need to compete on the major pro tours. It has since grown into the largest developmental tennis circuit in the world, consisting of some 90 tournaments offering nearly $3 million in prize money.
