The flights mark the first-ever nonstop service to pair of cities from Fort Myers.

Southwest Florida gamblers and lovers of Old South architecture now have breezy options to get their favorite destinations from Fort Myers.

Their path? Breeze Airways recently debuted nonstop flights from Southwest Florida International Airport to Las Vegas and Charleston, South Carolina — the first nonstop service to each city out of the airport, under the call letters RSW. The flights to each city debuted June 11, according to a statement. The flights will operate twice a week, utilizing a brand new A220-300 aircraft, with 126 seats in a three-class configuration, the statement adds.

“With these new routes, Breeze is looking forward to further growth in Fort Myers and in Southwest Florida,” says David Neeleman, the Breeze Airways chair and CEO, in the release.

"We are pleased to welcome Breeze Airways, one of the newest airlines in the United States, to Southwest Florida International Airport," adds Lee County Port Authority Executive Director Ben Siegel in the statement. “Breeze will begin convenient nonstop flights to Charleston and Las Vegas, which are not served from RSW and are both highly sought destinations by our community."

Breeze Airways began service in May 2021 primarily in the East and Southeast U.S., and is expanding west across the U.S. with 90 routes between 30 cities in 17 states. Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, co-founder of JetBlue, Breeze is a low fare carrier offering “new, nice and nonstop flights” between secondary airports, bypassing hubs for shorter travel times.
