FORT MYERS — Scanlon Auto Group plans to spend $25 million to build an Acura dealership on U.S. 41 that will open in late summer.

“We are proud to say more than 90% of the construction work is being completed by local subcontractors,” says Jay Scanlon, vice president of Scanlon Auto Group, in a statement. “We have called Southwest Florida our home for more than three decades, and we plan to be here for many more.”

The 11,000-square-foot building will include enclosed bays and air-conditioned new-car delivery areas with a coffee bar and waiting room with Internet. The facility also includes a car wash.

Owen-Ames-Kimball is the contractor on the new building designed by GMA Architects. The dealership is located at 14270 S. Tamiami Trail.
