VENICE — Post Acute Medical LLC plans to construct a 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital on five acres in Venice.

Following preparation of the land, Post Acute Medical expects to break ground by the third quarter of 2021 and complete construction in 2022, according to a press release. The site is on Curry Lane near Pinebrook Road, just off of Interstate 75.

When it opens, the hospital will be the company's first inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Florida. The firm currently operates PAM Specialty Hospital of Sarasota, a long-term acute care hospital.

"PAM is excited to bring comprehensive care for rehabilitation patients with complex conditions to the Venice community," says Chairman and CEO Anthony Misitano in the statement. "Throughout all the communities we serve, we put the patient first and provide comprehensive, individualized treatment that fosters meaningful improvement and recovery for people with injuries, illnesses and disabilities."

Post Acute Medical is collaborating on the new rehabilitation hospital with Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate, headquartered in Pensacola.

Post Acute Medical is based in Enola, Pa. It provides post-acute health care services through more than 40 long-term acute care hospitals and medical rehabilitation hospitals as well as 18 outpatient physical therapy locations in 12 states.
