FORT MYERS — The law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt PA named attorney Douglas Szabo the new chair of the firm's business litigation department.

“Doug is an experienced and successful trial attorney who is well respected by litigators both inside and outside our firm,” says Henderson Franklin Managing Stockholder Russell Schropp in a statement. “We are confident that he will be able to lead our Business Litigation Department into the future in his new role as Chair.”

Szabo replaces attorney John Noland in the role. Noland served as chair of the department for 30 years.

Szabo represents clients in corporate and partnership disputes, trade secret litigation, real estate disputes and breach of contract lawsuits as well as companies, financial institutions, bankruptcy trustees and other creditors in bankruptcy court. Szabo also defends media companies in First Amendment matters.

He is a member of the Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professional Association, Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association and American Bankruptcy Institute.

Henderson Franklin has over 50 attorneys. The firm has offices in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Sanibel Island and Naples.
