Golf course completes overhaul

BONITA SPRINGS — A major renovation to the Gator golf course at Pelican's Nest Golf Club is Bonita Springs is complete.

The project included a complete reconstruction of bunkers and greens, a complete re-grassing of the course's fairways, new scoring tees, hole modifications to Gator Holes 9, 13, 14, 17 and 18, golf cart restoration and renovations and landscaping, according to a statement.

“Our renovations to the Gator course align with our commitment to upholding the highest quality standards and offering the latest in golf course designs and features,” Pelican's Nest Golf Club general manager David Gillespie says in the statement. “Our goal at Pelican's Nest Golf Club is to provide our members with exceptional courses for all levels of play. We are pleased to offer our members a superior experience that is unique, challenging and fun.”

The 18-hole Gator golf course will open for limited play on Monday, Nov. 28. The short game practice range is currently open for use.

Pelican's Nest Golf Club features two Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole golf courses, the Hurricane and the Gator. The Hurricane golf course was previously renovated in 2015, installing improvements to greens, bunkers and collars.
