FORT MYERS — Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida named Angela Fisher president of the organization, a nonprofit that promotes entrepreneurship to students in schools.

Fisher has served in leadership positions in other nonprofit organizations, including the Florida Public Relations Association and the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems. She succeeds Anne Frazier, who was recently named director of global strategy and partnerships with Hope for Haiti.

“We are very excited to have Fisher join the Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida team and we look forward to seeing how her role will positively affect future business leaders of Southwest Florida,” says Gary Tasman, chair of the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida, in a statement. “Fisher has an impressive leadership background within the nonprofit world and we know that the expertise that she has acquired over the years will prove to be advantageous to the continued success of this organization.”

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida promotes entrepreneurship in schools through a network of volunteers who teach children financial literacy and work readiness skills. The organization also celebrates entrepreneurs with business hall of fame dinners in Lee and Collier counties.
