BUYER: Stoneybrook Investors LLC (principals: Cindy and Mark Pentecost), Bradenton

SELLER: Lennar Homes LLC

PROPERTY: 7515 Grand Harbour Pkwy, Bradenton

PRICE: $3.48 million

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Greenberg Traurig PA, West Palm Beach

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Part-time east Manatee County residents Cindy and Mark Pentecost purchased the 18-hole Stoneybrook Golf Club for $3.48 million. The price equated to $193,056 per hole.

The championship public golf course was designed by Arthur Hills. The purchase includes a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse with a pro shop, a restaurant, a cart barn and a 7,500-square-foot maintenance building. The Pentecostes have hired Sarasota-based Red Wire Sports to manage the 100-acre club.

Mark Pentecost is CEO of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based It Works Marketing, a nine-year-old direct-sales company. Similar to a company like Avon or Mary Kay, It Works offers home-based businesses that sell skin care products and body slimming, weight-loss and nutritional supplements.

“They have been looking for a golf course for a couple years,” says Chris Brandt, general manager of Stoneybrook Golf Club. “The Pentecostes love the sport.”

Stoneybrook was attractive, Brandt says, because of the size of the clubhouse and the condition of the course business operations.

The Pentecosts will evaluate improvements to the course. They plan to make changes to a number of the courses' bunkers and are considering creating an outdoor food area.

Randy Thibaut and Billy Rollins of Land Solutions represented the seller, Lennar Homes.
