Urban Trust enters Sarasota

Urban Trust Bank FSB, the second largest African-American-controlled bank in the nation, has expanded into Sarasota.

The bank opened its first office, mortgage services department, at 235 N. Orange Ave. Linda McConnell will lead the Sarasota team as Vice President - Mortgage Production Manager. Tommy Sorrentino, Larry Zunica, and John Evans will work with her as loan officers.

Headquartered in Lake Mary, Urban Trust Bank was founded in 1963 under the name Washington Shores Federal Savings Bank. In May 2010, Black Enterprise Magazine named Urban Trust the second largest African-American controlled bank in the nation.
