Painting, cleaning and detailing cars isn't just for the driveway, at least not in Paul Viens' world.

A Fort Myers entrepreneur, Viens has taken his car-washing career all the way to reality TV. Viens, behind Power of Excellence Auto Detailing, was preparing in early January to make his second appearance on the Velocity TV show “Competition Ready.” The show, according to a release, “takes viewers behind the scenes at what it takes to get a classic vehicle ready for competitions and for sale at auctions.”

Viens was scheduled to appear at a casting call held Jan. 11 at the 2017 Florida RV Supershow at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, where “Competition Ready” was readying its second season.
Viens, known in the industry for his expertise in custom car paint, the statement adds, will be making his second appearance on the show. He will be working on the basecoat and clear-coat of a top-of- the-line Newmar RV, with a paint job that costs up to $30,000, the release adds.

Competition Ready co-host Mike Phillips, from AutoGeek, says this is the first time the show has featured an RV competition.

“I often have to pinch myself to believe I am doing national TV,” Viens says in the statement. “You just don't think when you polish cars for a living that your skill will be on display before a national audience.”
