Joint $139M manufacturing venture produces 350 jobs

Siemens and Chromally celebrate opening of new facility in Tampa.

TAMPA — Siemens and Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corp., a subsidiary of Palm Beach Gardens-based Sequa Corp., have opened an ambitious joint venture in Hillsborough County: a manufacturing facility, Advanced Airfoil Components.

The partnership represents a capital investment of $139 million and will add 350 jobs in the area, according to a press release. Jobs include skilled positions such as technical engineers, manufacturing technicians and production workers, as well as human resources, finance, procurement and logistics and operations roles.

“Advanced Airfoil Components’ new facility demonstrates Siemens' commitment to delivering state-of-the-art technology solutions for our power and gas customers in the United States and throughout the world,” states Lisa Davis, CEO of Siemens’ energy division, in the release. 

Kevin Updegrove will serve as CEO of Advanced Airfoil Components.

“Advanced Airfoil Components is proud to exclusively deliver innovative, high-tech casting components for Siemens gas turbines at this new, state-of-the-art site,” Updegrove states in the release.
