FORT MYERS — Julia East resigned from her post as president and CEO of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation this week, a position she held for seven years.

“Opportunities occur infrequently in the life of an organization to easily transition to new leadership, and I feel this is one of those times for the foundation,” East says of her departure.

Founded in 1976, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation serves residents of Lee, Charlotte, Glades, Hendry, and Collier counties. The organization has delivered $50 million in grants and scholarships to area residents, and it currently manages roughly $60 million in assets.
