FORT MYERS — Home prices in the Cape Coral-Fort Myers region outperformed the national average in June 2016 compared to June 2015.
The region's home prices, including distressed sales, increased by 8.4% in June, according to data provider CoreLogic. The national average was 5.7%.
“Home prices continue to increase across the country, especially in the lower price ranges and in a number of metro areas,” says Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic, in the statement. “We see prices continuing to increase at a healthy rate over the next year by as much as 5%.”
Florida's overall home prices rose by 7% in June, the sixth highest increase of any state, the data shows. Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah and Nevada saw the five largest increases.
