TAMPA BAY — The Tampa Bay Partnership has hired Matt Cutler as vice president of its investor relations and development. This role includes finding new investors and handling grant and sponsorship development, the partnership says.

Prior to joining the partnership, Cutler was president of Mr. Empanada Franchise Corp. in Tampa. Cutler has also held several executive positions, including COO of Two Men and a Truck/International, where he helped grow the company from 40 locations in 1998 to more than 200 in 2011. He also led the company's expansion into 33 states and into Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom, a release explains.

“Matt's strong corporate background as a chief operating officer along with his experience in government and media are uniquely suited to this new position at the Tampa Bay Partnership,” Stuart Rogel, president and CEO of the partnership, says in a release. “He will be a strong addition to our team.”

Cutler holds a bachelor's degree in political science, and he started his career as a district coordinator and media liaison with the Michigan Senate.

The Tampa Bay Partnership is a regional economic development organization aimed at marketing the region, conducting research, and influencing business and government decisions that affect growth. Founded in 1994, the partnership covers an eight-county area stretching from Citrus and Hernando counties to Sarasota county.
