Platter joins Akerman Senterfitt

Utah attorney Holly Platter is now of counsel in the Tampa office of Akerman Senterfitt. She had worked at Richards Brandt Miller & Nelson in Salt Lake City and Clark Delesie Bierley Mueller & Kadyk in Tampa. Platter, who focuses on health care law, is a graduate of Bentley College and Stetson law school.

Hendrix elected vice president

The Gulf Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America has elected GrayRobinson PA lawyer David Hendrix as vice president of the youth group's endowment and investment committee. The group also elected him to an eighth term on its executive board.

At GrayRobinson, Hendrix practices commercial litigation, banking, administrative and regulatory law.

Kirk earns certification

Donald Kirk, a shareholder at Tampa's Fowler White Boggs Banker PA, has earned certification in business bankruptcy law from the American Board of Certification.

Kirk, a member of the commercial litigation practice group, focuses on bankruptcy and creditors' rights law.

In other news, the Children's Dream Fund recently elected Kirk as its chair-elect.

St. Arnold completes program

Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Jack St. Arnold recently completed a weeklong study program at the National Judicial College in Reno. He was one of 24 U.S. judges selected to participate in the program that is designed to improve judicial skills.

Elected to office in 2002, St. Arnold presides over family law cases.

Rothman joins Phelps Dunbar

Brad Rothman is a new associate in the Tampa office of Phelps Dunbar LLP. He works with the firm's regional insurance and reinsurance practice group.

A graduate of Quinnipiac University, he earned a master's degree in 1999 in organizational psychology from Columbia University and a law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
