SARASOTA — Neal Communities was among the nation's top 100 home builders in terms of total closings in 2010, according to rankings recently published by Builder Magazine.
Neal's sales team generated 272 closings over the course of the year, up 55% from its 2009 activity, when it was ranked 126th on the same list, according to a release.
Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities, says this is the first time his company has made it into the list's top 100 rankings.
Builder Magazine compiles its information by contacting the nation's builders directly. According to Hanley Wood, the magazine's publisher, more than half of this year's top 100 companies saw revenues increase over the year in 2010.
Sales growth has continued into the start of 2011 for Neal Communities. In the first three months of this year, Neal had 47 closings, up 85% from last year's first quarter.
